7 questions with Jerry Twenge of Mt. Spokane High School

Scorebook Live’s Dan Dickau recently caught up with Jerry Twenge of Mt. Spokane High School. Twenge, a 6-3 senior guard, is averaging 15.5 points per game for the 18-1 Wildcats, who have wrapped up the GSL 3A title. Twenge has had some big games this season, including a 29-point performance vs. Shadle Park that included seven 3-pointers.

Twenge has committed to play college basketball at Whitworth next season. We asked him seven questions:

How would you describe your game?

I am a very versatile player that can play anywhere on the court to help my team succeed.

What are your goals for this season?

Team goal: To win a state championship.

Individual goal: To grow as a player and as a person and to do anything I can to help my team win.

How would you describe your coach?

Coach (David) Wagenblast is a very good coach who will always give us all we need to be successful in any matchup we have on any given day. He will also be hard on you when he needs to be and is able to get the most out of a player and a team.

Who is your favorite player?

LeBron James because he is willing to do all he can to help his team win and is a great leader.

Who is your toughest matchup this season and why?

Gonzaga Prep because they pose a different challenge than what we are used to. They are very long and active on the defensive end and you have to be very crafty in order to score and create for your teammates.

What is your favorite gym in the state to play in?

The Tacoma Dome. It is a fun atmosphere and you know it can be one of your last games as a team so you are willing to play as hard as you can for your team.

What are your aspirations as a player?

To play at the highest level possible no matter what that may be.
