KeAndre Hunter-Holliday and the Battle Ground Tigers aren’t ready to go home yet. After battling through three elimination games in the 4A bi-district tournament, the Tigers beat Puyallup last Friday to clinch a state playoff berth.
Hunter-Holliday, along with all-GSHL teammates Kaden Perry and Vincent McCormic, now have their sights set on a regional playoff matchup with No. 1 Union on Friday. The Tigers’ last matchup with Union went down to the wire with the Titans pulling out a 72-67 win.
Hunter-Holliday’s task will be to slow down Union’s multi-skilled forward, Tanner Toolson. We recently caught up with Hunter-Holliday to ask him seven questions:
How would you describe your game?
I’m a slasher and a defensive stopper.
What are your goals for this season?
To go to the Tacoma Dome.
How would you describe your coach (Manny Melo)?
Coach Melo has faith in our team and believes we can do great things.
Who is your favorite player?
Who is your toughest matchup of the season?
Tanner Toolson. Union is full of shooters so there’s not a lot of help defense. He can shoot and he’s quick off the dribble which makes him hard to guard.
What is your favorite gym in state to play in?
The Cage, Battle Ground High School.
What are your aspirations as a player?
To play college basketball.
