The state of Washington is filled with girls basketball talent, and Tri-Cities Prep’s Talia von Oelhoffen is near the top of the list.
A 6-foot guard, von Oelhoffen was named the National Athletic Association of Private Schools Division 3 Player of the Year last summer, becoming the first freshman to win the award.
After leading the Jaguars to their first 2B state tournament berth last season, von Oelhoffen (No. 44) has her sights set on a state title this season. Tri-Cities Prep took a step in that direction Saturday with a 71-16 regional victory over Auburn Adventist Academy. The win puts the Jaguars into the state 2B quarterfinals at Spokane Arena on Thursday.
