6 questions with Anton Watson, Gonzaga Prep basketball star

Gonzaga Prep star Anton Watson has the Bullpups on the verge of another 4A state championship.

Watson, who will play for Gonzaga next season, leads Gonzaga Prep into the 4A boys basketball semifinals on Friday night vs. Federal Way. It’s a rematch of the 2018 4A title game, won by Gonzaga Prep 54-52.

We recently caught up with Watson and asked him seven questions.

How would you describe your game?

I would describe my game as high IQ and any position type of player.

What are your goals for the season?

For myself and my team my main goal is to go back-to-back State Championships.

Who is your favorite player?

Jayson Tatum.

Who was your toughest matchup of the season?

Everyone is a tough matchup because everyone wants to beat us.

What is your favorite gym in the state to play in?

I love playing at our home gym (Gonzaga Prep) because of the environment and fans that show love.

What are your aspirations as a player?

My goal is to take basketball as far as I can and hopefully one day it can be my job.
