Prairie High School lived up to its billing as the No. 1 seed.
Led by Fresno State commit Brooke Walling, the Falcons beat Edmonds-Woodway, Kamiakin and Mt. Spokane on three consecutive days at the Tacoma Dome to capture the 2019 WIAA 3A girls basketball championship.
In Saturday’s title game vs. No. 2 Mt. Spokane, the Falcons showed resolve, rallying from a halftime deficit to grind out a 37-35 victory. It’s the seventh state championship for Prairie (25-2) and its first since 2012.
