Todd Milles has covered just about every sport at every level imaginable.
This weekend, he’ll add yet another feather in his cap — or rather, many hats.
Milles, a senior reporter for Scorebook Live, will be given an award of excellence by the Washington Baseball Coaches Association for his high school baseball coverage in Washington for more than two decades.
The association honors a media member, a large and small school coach and an umpire each year at the All-State Baseball weekend in Yakima, which takes place Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Before joining Scorebook Live in April, Milles was a sports writer at The News Tribune in Tacoma for over 23 years, covering nearly every beat in the sports department in that time.
Auburn Mountainview coach Glen Walker is one of the four coaches on the WBCA board that nominated Milles, and said his was the first name brought up when deciding who to honor.
“The work he’s done with the TNT and previous years recognizing and writing about our baseball players and athletes, especially the south sound” was worth recognition, Walker said.
Milles will be in Yakima Saturday to accept the recognition.
“We’re honored he accepted and is going to come to Yakima and be a part of our program,” Walker said.
